1.      How do I install the FedEx label printer drivers?

Your Thermal Printer should have a Driver CD in the box. Follow the directions printed on the CD to install the printer driver.

2.      I have a FedEx label printer and need to send it in for repairs.

You will need to fill out the Return Materials Authorization form. Once the RMA form you submitted has been reviewed, you will be contacted by an RMA Department Representative with further instructions. The RMA form can be found here.

3.      There is lighter print in certain parts of the label as it is printing out.

Zebra recommends that you clean the printhead with the cleaning pen, or the "SAVE-A-PRINTHEAD" 4" cleaning kit available as an accessory at www.zipzebra.com/customerchoice/home.asp. If the print quality is no better, try loading a new roll of labels and printing to the printer again. If none of the above has fixed your problem and you are still seeing light print, then contact Repair for an RMA number.

4.      Where can I purchase spare parts for my FedEx printer?

All other spare parts are obtained by returning the printer to the factory for repair.

5.      Where can I get a manual for my FedEx printer?

For printers obtained via the Tech Awards/Customer Choice programs, the documentation for the printer was sent with the printer and on the driver CD. For PowerShip MC FedEx printers, there are no user's guides available.

6.      Where do I get the latest firmware for my FedEx printer? Can I just download the firmware from Zebra’s web site? Why don’t I see my exact printer model listed?

The FedEx printer firmware is not available on the Zebra site. The standard firmware is not designed to be compatible with FedEx software. The firmware in your printer is custom formatted for FedEx. Downloading standard firmware to the printer will result in damaging the printer.

7.      The printer LED has a constant red light and will not do anything. Is there a fix for this?

Make sure you have loaded your media/labels correctly and perform the Dump Mode routine: Power off, press and hold feed button, turn power on, release feed button after 1 second. Wait for calibration labels to feed and a configuration label to print. At this point the printer is also in ASCII dump mode. Press the feed key to restore the printer to normal. The led should now be green.
If you turn the printer on and the light is still red, you will need to contact the Repair Department to have the printer sent in for repair.
